    The goal of this project was to bring Art Nouveau to a contemporary subject. I chose the Disney movie ‘Brave’, and created an art nouveau style illustration of the main character. I used distinguishing ornamental characteristics and undulating symmetrical and delicate lines to create the background.

CONCEPT

This illustration is very complex with several different weight lines. I chose muted colours for the delicate details, as Art Nouveau is primarily a decorative style. My Art Nouveau illustration was inspired by Hannah Alexander illustration.
All the background elements in my illustration come from reference images from the movie.
